With its awe-inspiring landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and challenging trails, the Trich Mir Base Camp Trek promises an unforgettable expedition into the wilderness of Pakistan.
The Trich Mir Base Camp Trek takes its name from the towering Trich Mir peak, the highest mountain in the Hindu Kush range, standing proudly at 7,708 meters above sea level. This expedition not only offers stunning views of this iconic peak but also introduces trekkers to the enchanting beauty of the surrounding valleys, lush forests, and alpine meadows.
Day 1: Islamabad
On arrival, where you will be meet the AMT staff member at Islamabad International Airport and transferred to hotel You will meet your guide in the afternoon at the hotel for a trip briefing and gear check.
Day-2 Islamabad – Chitral:
In the morning after breakfast then we will drive to Chitral via Loweri Tunnel arrival in Chitral check in at hotel. Overnight in Chitral.
Day-3 Drive Shagram (2850 m).
235 km ex Mingora, roughly 6-7 hours on the way. Accommodation At Hotel.
Day-4 Trek to Shahinik (Camping)
5 hours, 12.5km, 780m ascent
Follow the trail from Shagrom through willow groves to reach ponds attracting migratory ducks. Cross a wooden footbridge to Tirich Gol’s right bank. Continue to the confluence of Tirich Gol and Udren Gol, then to springs and Shahgol’s fields. Proceed to Bandok and Adren Atak valley. Cross the stream to Romen Kulum huts. In summer, climb high to reach Sherniak. Before July, follow the river, crossing snow bridges to Sherniak’s grove..
Day-5 Trek to Shogur Besum,
Trek to Shughur Baisun at 4038m via the lower Tirich glacier and moraine. Pass through willow stands and climb the glacier’s terminal moraine. Follow the right bank of the outwash stream and head towards the glacier’s north side. Cross a large channel and ascend the ice slope cautiously. Continue along the glacier’s north margin, passing white seracs. Shoghor Biasun (4038m) is located west of a large mound of moraine. Descend to camp for views of Tirich Mir and Lower Tirich Glacier. Spend Day 3 here to acclimatize.
Day-6 Trek to Babu Camp,
Trek beside the upper Tirich glacier to Tirich Mir, Noshaq, and Istor-o-Nal Base Camp at 4700m. It’s a 6-7 hour trek with stunning views of Terich Concordia and surrounding peaks. The route stays in an ablation valley, avoiding the Upper Tirich Glacier. Follow an old lateral moraine to Istor-o-Nal Base Camp at 4267m, a great lunch spot. Continue for another two to three hours to reach Babu Camp at 4724m. Consider spending an extra day or two to explore the area.
Day 7 Free day Babu Camp
Rest Days for Photography of surrounding mountains and Exploration of the area. (Camping)
Day-8 Trek back to Sheniak
Day-9 Trek back to Shogram
Trek back to Shogram, Drive to Chitral, 4-5 hours drive. (Hotel)
Day 10 Drive to Birir valley from Chitral
Trek over Ghumbai Pass to Bamburet, a 6-7 hour journey. Breakfast at the hotel, packed lunch en route, and dinner at Bumberat hotel. Gaz koro over the Birir Pass to Bumburate, also 6-7 hours. Day 11: Sightseeing in Bumberat includes Museum, Local Community, Graveyard, and religious sites. Hotel meals at a local hotel, paid by clients. Explore Kalash culture and old civilization in Bumburate valley.
Day-11 Trek to Acholgah over the Pass of Bumboret (3210m)
5 hours trekking (Camping). Today, we’ll hire a cook, porter, and guide for our overnight journey between Bumboret and Rambur. Breakfast at the hotel, with lunch and dinner prepared along the way.
Trek from Bumburate over the Bumburate pass to Acholga, a 6 to 7-hour trek. The valley is dense with pine and holly oak trees, offering no permanent dwellings, just summer pastures and shepherd huts. Overnight in fields surrounded by barley, corn, and potatoes.
Day-12 Trek to Rumbur- Balang Kuru (2520m)
3 hours (Hotel) This Day will have to hire a cook for breakfast & Lunch, porter to carry kitchen tent and personal tent and guide
Day-13 Free day for Kalash
experience and exploration and photography. Sightseeing Includes Museum, Local Community, Graveyard and religious stops. o/n Hotel. Lunch and Dinner at the hotel are paid for by clients.
Day-14 Drive back to Timargara
170 km, roughly 6-8 hours on the way. (Hotel)
Day-15 Drive back to Islamabad
250 km, roughly 4 hours on the way. o/n ISB,
Day-16 Fly to your Home
Transfer to Airport and goodby to your home.

Altitude sickness can be a concern due to the high altitude of the trek. It’s essential to acclimatize properly and stay hydrated throughout the journey.
Yes, porters can be arranged upon request to carry luggage during the trek for an additional fee.
Accommodation during the trek will mainly consist of tents at designated campsites along the trail. Basic facilities will be provided.
